How to crochet a dress for Barbie, master class with photos

Work starts from the waist. First you need to cast on a simple chain of 40 air loops.

The dress is made in single crochets. There is no need to make any increases in the first row:

In the second and fourth rows, five columns are added. This is the pattern that should form:

The same must be done in the sixth and eighth rows. This is what the top of the dress looks like on the tenth row:

Periodically it is worth trying the fabric on the doll to make sure that the dress will fit well. In the eleventh row you need to knit 12 single crochets + 5 double crochets in one stitch + 3 single crochets + 5 double crochets in one loop. Next come simple single crochets.

The twelfth row is performed in a special way. Before the first arch you need to knit single crochets. Above the last stitch before the arch and the first double crochet you need to knit two stitches together. The same reduction in loops occurs after the first arch, as well as at the beginning and end of the next one.

The next two rows are performed in the same way, decreasing the total number of loops. The last row is knitted without reducing the number of columns. The thread breaks.

Now you can move on to the skirt. To do this, the thread is attached to the beginning of the fabric, and a series of single crochets is performed.

In the next row, you need to knit two stitches in every second loop of the base.

There is no need to make increases in the third row.

Knitting continues without changes until the eighth row.

Now you can break the blue thread and move on to the clasp. To do this, a piece of Velcro is carefully sewn to each front of the dress.

First to the top:

Then to the bottom:

The fronts of the dress are overlapped and carefully sewn together:

This is what you should get:

The next row is done with “Grass”. The number of loops does not need to be changed.

Summer, as they say, is just around the corner, we can’t wait to start swimming, and, of course, children - most of all! And children need to play with their favorite toys on the beach too! Therefore, to make children happy and dolls to feel comfortable, I suggest knitting a swimsuit for a Barbie doll or its equivalent.

The swimsuit is knitted easily and quickly due to its size and simple knitting. You can do it without a skirt, or you can do it with a skirt. My daughters loved the swimsuit with skirt!

Materials: leftover yarn of two colors - I have white and blue melange "Violet" (YarnArt, Turkey) and turquoise "Iris" (PNK im.Kirov) - only about 5 g; hook 1.25 mm; 2 small sew-on buttons; sewing needle and thread to match the yarn.

Row 4: Attention! I knit using the front half-loops (so that the skirt can be knitted using the back half-loops) - 1 sc to the end of the row, turn (44).

On the other side, our knitting looks like this (you can see the half-loops left unknitted):

This is the front side.

5 row:Attention! I connect with an overlap of 3 loops (in order to make a fastener), knit 1 sc to the end of the row, connect with a sl st, turn (44).

6th row: all st bn (44).
I secure the thread, but do not break it.

7th row: Attention! I knit a gusset on the front 8 stitches - 8 sc.

Row 8: dec, 4 sc, dec (6).
Row 9: 6 sc (6).
10th row: dec, 2 sc, dec (4).
11-14 row: 4 sc (4).
Row 15: inc, 2 sc, inc (6).
Row 16: 6 sc (6).
Row 17: inc, 4 st bn, inc (8).
Row 18: 8 sc (8).
Row 19: inc, 6 st bn, inc (10).
Row 20: 10 sc (10).
Row 21: inc, 8 st bn, inc (12).
Row 22-23: 12 sc (12).

This results in a gusset like this:

I bend it, trying to make the centers coincide.

Front view:

Back view:

I make a ss at the junction of the gusset with the upper back part and tie one trouser leg in a sc on the front side:

I sew the gusset to the top using ss:

And I tie the second trouser leg on the front side, fasten and cut the thread, hide the ends - the panties are ready!

To create this outfit for my daughter's doll, I used double mercerized cotton yarn 50 g/165 m, a crochet hook number 2.5 and 3 black hooks.

The dress is knitted from denim-colored yarn.

Dress pattern for Barbie.

The dress is knitted from top to bottom in rows of single crochets and double crochets.

Cast on the required number of air loops, trying them on your doll. If you want to sew buttons to fasten the dress, then cast on 3-4 loops more than the chest circumference (so that the edges of the knitting overlap).

To decrease stitches at the waist, work double crochets into each stitch, alternating 2 regular double crochets and the next 2 double crochets with a common top.

At the narrowest part of the dress, work 2 rows of single crochets.

Below the waist line you need to add loops. To do this, knit double crochets, and in every 3rd loop of the previous row, knit 2 double crochets.

Since I plan to use hook-and-eye fasteners, my knitted Barbie dress is butted at the back.

I decided to connect the extreme halves, and this is what I came up with:

And it turns out very beautifully:

And at the back it is better to hem the top and bottom edges.

For this kit knitted clothes for Barbie All that remains is to knit the hat.
